WHY ONLINE TV/VIDEO, PODCASTING & RADIO?
The majority of the mainstream American news media is biased. It is anti-Arab and it is also anti-Muslim. It is unprofessional. But beyond my concerns about the Middle East, the mainstream news media is also biased against everyday Americans. You do not get the full story from the mainstream American news media. I know. I have been a member of the mainstream American news media for more than three decades.
The truth is that the majority of the American media intentionally suppresses the voices of Arab Americans and Muslim Americans. It is not the result of some "Jewish conspiracy." It is not even an issue of "control." It is about an anti-Arab bias and anti-Muslim bias that the media reflects from American society that existed long before September 11th.
Although most news reporters are objective, the real bias exists on the Op-Ed (opposite opinion pages). This is where individuals express opinions about issues. Numerous studies have shown that the American discussion and debate about the Middle East is unfairly weighted against the Arab and Muslim views. Their voices are rare, even though the Middle East remains one of the most important regions impacting American national interests.
The best way to beat this kind of bias is to create your own news media, which is exactly what this Online web page is all about.
Although I work on a shoe-string budget, and are limited by what we can and cannot record, what we are able to complete is placed on this web page and made available to anyone who wishes to learn the truth about the Arab World, the Muslim World and the Middle East.
So, I spend my time not only writing, which is my primary journalism profession, but also producing independent documentaries on topics of interest, cable TV interviews and features, hosting live radio and also prodcasting.
Podcasting has an enormous potential. It is easy to podcast. Simply open an account with iTunes and then download your podcasts to your computer. If you have an iPod, you can transfer those podcasts from your computer and the Internet easily and automatically so you will have the latest interview segments we make available.
